Podcasts for Canadian Centrists and Conservatives (Part One)
I’ve been on the hunt for Canadian organizations that support classical liberal ideals, liberty, rule of law and free speech. Values that are currently under threat in Canada from left-leaning institutions that have frankly lost their way. A happy byproduct of this search has been the discovery of some excellent podcasts which have made my regular rotation. I’m going to blog about them as I go…..
Not Reserving Judgment
Weekly | 30mins – 60mins. Audio & Video available.
This has been a recent find for me. It’s put out by The Canadian Constitution Foundation. An amazing organization.
What I like: I like the panel format with multiple hosts. They have different segments, such as “bad legal take of the week”. High quality, interesting content and knowledgeable hosts. Good sense of humour, too. I learn a lot about what is going on in the legal and political landscape.
Leaders on the Frontier
Weekly (sometimes more) | 30mins – 60mins. Audio & Video formats available.
Put out by The Frontier Centre for Public Policy a think tank based in Western Canada.
What I like: Standard interview show with interesting guests who often share a more conservative take on the issues of the day but from a Canadian context. Host David Leis has a laid-back, thoughtful style and lets the guests shine.
The Hub Podcasts
Daily | 15-40 minutes. Audio & Video formats available.
Put out The Hub a not-for-profit digital news outlet committed to independent analysis and spirited debate. Centrist/center-right oriented.
What I like: Good conversations and takes from prominent figures. Different viewpoints than what you’d find in mainstream press. Alternates between interviews and readings of editorials.
Note: I’ve added the Apple and Youtube links, but these podcasts are available wherever you get your podcasts.
